A Band's Best Friend

A Band’s Best Friend: Tim Maxwell of LOSER and his dog Charlie

Sure, musicians are cool – they make great art, and they’re usually pretty dope people off-stage too. But you know who’s way cooler than any musician? The pet of any musician.

It’s a medical fact that scene pets are the leading source of nature’s serotonin reserves. Enter: A Band’s Best Friend, one of the all-time greatest columns from the olden days of BLUNT (back when we were in print – remember magazines!?), groomed and re-trained for the modern day. This time around, we’ve been given the privilege to meet Charlie, the right-hand-man of LOSER frontman Tim Maxwell.

What’s your best friend’s name?
Charlie.

And what do you actually call them?
Chuck, Chuckaluck, Cholula.

What animal is your best friend?
Dog (Chihuahua x Jack Russell).

How did you and your best friend meet?
We met through my grandma, once she passed Charlie was given to us. He is 16 now and still kicking!

How would you best describe your best friend’s character?
Cheeky, witty and demanding!

Tell us some of the more trying times in your friendship with your best friend?
Whenever I have had a hard day nothing beats cuddling with chuck. It feels like they know you need them. Whenever I need him he is always there

But what keeps the friendship going strong?
Our love of food and being lazy.

What’s your favourite memory with your best friend?
At my 21st he was dressed in a dollar chain with sunnies. Seems cruel, but he was having a good time.

Where can we catch the adventures of you and your best friend?
I tend to post a lot of chuck on Instagram. You can find me @tmackswell
