Oz Comic-Con announce first international guest

Oz Comic-Con consider themselves the epitome of Australia’s ultimate pop culture experience, and they’re looking to make good on that promise with the announcement of their first international guest for this year’s Melbourne line-up.

If you’re a fan of the Gotham scene, you would know Rachel Skarsten pretty well, with the Canadian actress currently starring as villainess Alice Kane in CW series Batwoman. The role sees Skarsten portraying Batwoman’s twisted twin sister who was previously presumed dead opposite Ruby Rose. It represents Skarsten’s second dalliance in the Batman universe, with the actress previously taking part in the short-lived Birds of Prey series. You may also recognise her from royal drama Reign, Syfy’s Lost Girl, Fifty Shades of Grey or The Vow. Skarsten will be participating in Q&A panels each day at the event, in addition to greeting her ready and waiting following.

Set to take place in June, Comic-Con Melbourne is just one of three events staggered over the course of 2020, with dates slated for Brisbane and Sydney in September. Ensuring there’s something for everybody, Comic-Con is partnering with Animaga to bring only the best in anime and manga content. Upholding their reputation in expertise across comics, gaming, anime, cosplay and mainstream pop culture, there’s plenty on offer. You can head to Artist Alley to chat to the creators of some of the world’s most iconic content; from Star Wars to Marvel to DC titles, compete in the Gaming Zone or pick up a nerdy collectible that fits right in with the hundreds of pop vinyls you still collect for some reason.

We can’t wait to find out if it’s still socially acceptable to cosplay Hogwarts students in 2020 come our trip to the Convention Centre in June. Details below.
