Running Touch kicks off 2021 with new single ‘Juno’

It is a truth universally accepted by Aussie alt fans that Running Touch really is something else. Every time he releases a new single, it’s to acclaim and high-rotation, with everything that he’s given his stamp of approval to guaranteed to be of a high level of quality. To kick off 2021, the multi-instrumentalist has shared his new single ‘Juno’, which follows very much in that same trend.

Having, like the rest of us, lived through the shitstorm that was the last 12 months, he notes that ‘Juno’ for him represented his “kind of escapism”. He continues: “I didn’t want to focus and write about what I was going through last year, so I wrote this story instead.”

The story follows Sandro, a “son of crime and a young prodigal painter fleeing his city and falling in love with a budding thief”. That thief is Juno, who Sandro pursues “while trying to keep his past at bay,” with his world revolving “around getting as close to Juno as he can”. Those themes of “violence, crime and love” are inescapably relevant, whether they’re being explored by Shakespeare or a budding Melbourne artist taking the industry by storm.

You’ll be able to catch Running Touch live at Summer Sound Festival, For The Love Festival and Yours & Owls Festival, assuming that it’s smooth sailing from here on out and nothing else gets cancelled based on this pesky pandemic. He’s set to headline the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in February, with guests including Northeast Party House (DJ Set), Kult Kyss and Adult Art Club.
