Blood Command share single with new vocalist Nikki Brumen (ex-Pagan)

Like a phoenix rising from the death pop ashes, a new era is imminent for Norwegian pioneers Blood Command, as they reveal news of a brand new single along with the addition of Australia’s Nikki Brumen (ex-Pagan) to their troupe. The announcement comes as a mark of a rebirth for the band, who promise a “tougher, tighter and more melodic” sound, with Brumen’s fierce vocals contributing to the shift.

‘A Villain’s Monologue’ reveals a glimpse into what fans can expect for the future of Blood Command, says guitarist and songwriter Yngve Andersen. The song is a powerhouse of a track that showcases the dark, mystical magic of what Brumen and Blood Command are capable of brewing together.

Andersen continues: “When I showed Nikki the song, she had been through an incredibly similar situation so we both knew this was the perfect introduction to the rebirth of Blood Command.” The departure of ex-vocalist Karina early last year left fans and followers curious to see which direction the band will take next, but it’s safe to say that no one was prepared for just how perfect of a fit the new vocalist chosen for Blood Command would be.

While the joining of these ferocious forces is news to us all, it feels like a match made in heaven – or as Brumen herself puts it – a cosmic intervention. “I’d actually been introduced to Blood Command’s Cult Drugs a couple of years earlier and fell in love with them instantly. In a weird way, they reminded me of a more pop version of Pagan,” Nikki says. “The stars had aligned.”

Fronting a band she loves dearly is not something Brumen takes lightly. “I will sing every note from my heart, I will scream every word from my gut. I will write every lyric from my soul together with the band and I will never let you down. We are all in this together now.” Blood Command are due to embark on an extensive European tour next year with Kvelertak.
