SEEIN’ STARS and BIRDS mark a bold new direction ahead of Turnstile’s upcoming album.
Turnstile has just dropped two fresh tracks – “SEEIN’ STARS” and “BIRDS” – and it’s safe to say the Baltimore hardcore icons are absolutely killing it.
Both songs arrive as part of the rollout for their new album NEVER ENOUGH, due out June 6 via Roadrunner Records, and showcase a more expansive side of the Baltimore band’s ever-evolving sound. NEVER ENOUGH was announced in early April, and is the first album from Turnstile since the Grammy-nominated Glow On in 2021.
“SEEIN’ STARS” stands out not just for its atmospheric, dreamy vibes, but for its stacked guest list: Hayley Williams of Paramore and Dev Hynes of Blood Orange both lend vocals to the track, blending seamlessly into Turnstile’s sound.
Hynes and the band are no strangers—he collaborated on three tracks from 2021’s GLOW ON and even contributed cello to NEVER ENOUGH‘s title track. Meanwhile, Williams has been a long-time supporter of Turnstile, once calling them “one of the best bands in the world” (Zane Lowe, 2022) and collaborating behind the scenes with frontman Brendan Yates, who directed two of Paramore’s music videos.
“SEEIN’ STARS” floats with hazy guitars, a driving groove, and Brendan Yates’ vocals. In contrast, “BIRDS” snaps back into full Turnstile mode, all pounding drums, ripping guitars, and the raw, high-voltage energy that’s made them hardcore heroes.
The two new tracks are accompanied by a double music video, directed by Yates and guitarist Pat McCrory. The shift between the two tracks is as visually different as it is sonically – you can check it out below:
Together, these two songs are a clear sign that NEVER ENOUGH won’t just be another hardcore record—it’s the sound of a band reaching far beyond the genre they helped redefine.
Album drops June 6. Keep your ears ready.
