Rockstar Games has finally dropped the second GTA 6 trailer less than a week after the announcement that the hotly-anticipated title has been delayed to May 2026.
The second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI is stacked with new info on what to expect when the game launches (hopefully) next year. We get to properly meet the game’s dual protagonists, Jason and Lucia, who are a bit like Bonnie and Clyde if they grew up on Spring Breakers. Their playground? Vice City – Rockstar’s sun-drenched, neon-fried version of Florida—reborn and bigger than ever as the state of Leonida.
“Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them,” the trailer description reads. “But when an easy score goes wrong, they’re thrown into a conspiracy that’ll chew up anything not fast enough to run.”
It’s gritty, glossy chaos soundtracked by The Pointer Sisters’ “Hot Together,” and yes, the trailer was captured on PS5—which means Rockstar’s aiming high, as usual.

As for the delay? Rockstar says they’re taking the extra time to meet the monstrous expectations around GTA 6, and Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick is backing the play, calling the game a “blockbuster entertainment experience.”
The characters themselves are already grabbing attention. Jason’s a troubled ex-Army grunt turned Keys drug-runner, while Lucia’s fresh out of Leonida Penitentiary with a no-bullshit survival instinct and a new outlook. In short: they’re both one bad decision away from total collapse, or total takeover. The official GTA 6 site goes more into detail on the pair, with Jason described as “[growing up] around grifters and crooks. After a stint in the Army trying to shake off his troubled teens, he found himself in the Keys doing what he knows best, working for local drug runners. It might be time to try something new.”
The site also delves a bit more into some of the colourful characters of Leonida GTA 6 players will get to meet – and they’re as Florida-coded as you’d expect. You can check out the full breakdown here.
GTA 6 is set to launch in May 2026. And based on this trailer, it looks like it might be worth the wait.
