The Used Get A Venue Upgrade In Sydney; Melbourne Sold Out In 90 Minutes
Never underestimate the power of nostalgia. She be a powerful varmint, and with but a mention of the good ol’ days, can have you mercilessly tearing the notes from your wallet and pelting them so hard at your computer screen that, yep, you just cracked it. Alt-rock icons The Used know this all too well, as they’ve managed to sell four dates of their 15th Anniversary tour out in a mere 90 minutes.
The Utah unit are set to make their return to our lowly little island later in the year (November and December), their classic 2000 self-titled debut and 2004’s In Love And Death in tow for ten nights – across five cities – of sweet, sweet reminiscing. Shocking no-one, all tickets to both shows in Sydney and Melbourne were snatched up almost immediately.
Worry not if you missed out on tickets for the Sydney dates, however – a quick change of venues from the Metro Theatre to the Enmore has freed up another 600 tickets. Remember though, 1,000 tickets flew off the metaphorical shelves in an hour and a half this morning. If you sleep on this, we feel not a shred of sorrow for you.
Melbourne fans are unfortunately shit out of luck here (unless a venue upgrade or additional shows are still yet to be announced), but folks in Freemantle, Adelaide and Brisbane still have limited tix on the cards for their respective shows.
In other Used-centric news, the quartet released their latest offering, Live And Acoustic At The Palace, last month. It’s a fairly self-explanatory release, exploring their past 15 years as a band, and making us feel incredibly old. Damn it, Bert!
