2/5 Of Bring Me The Horizon Are Going To Climb Mount Kilimanjaro

Bring Me The Horizon

Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes and keyboardist Jordan Fish are going to climb Mount Kilimanjiro – the highest mountain in Africa – to raise money for the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Southampton Hospital. The metalcore musos have taken up the cause in light of the hospital caring for Fish’s son Eliot, who suffered a brain haemorrhage at just four days old.

The tragic event was described by Fish in a statement on his Instagram. He stated that Eliot has a “long way to go” in his recovery but is “alive to fight, he is breathing on his own and we are seeing small improvements every day. He is a little fighter and has shown amazing signs of recovery already, even at this early stage. We owe that completely to the Nurses, Doctors, Neurologists and staff at PICU.”

In light of that, Fish is focusing on “doing something positive for the ward and trying to raise enough money to pay for a new bed for them. Oli asked immediately if he could join me and help raise as much awareness for this cause as possible.” Sykes and Fish will undertake the climb in January, but in the meantime you can donate to Fish’s JustGiving page. You can catch Bring Me The Horizon on an Australian tour this month.
