Watch Byron Bay’s Waxhead Have A Jam In The Middle Of A Weed Field

Okay, so it’s probably a hemp field, but either way you’re about to see a band surrounded by more marijuana leaves than a Snoop Dogg clip.

Leading Aussie surf and fashion brand SurfStitch have partnered with Afends for their Live From The Greenroom series (hosted over at The Lens) where they showcase live performances from up-and-coming surf rock bands. Given they film bands in their hometowns it’s only fitting that fuzzed out Byron Bay psych-rockers Waxhead got to celebrate medical marijuana being legalised in New South Wales with this live track filmed in “a 60-acre field of Mary Jane”, likely the biggest crop in the country. “You guys know us too well,” the band quipped.

Peddling the kind of vintage, laid-back jams that do a remarkably good job of soundtracking your summer (and/or bong sesh), Waxhead’s clip features some killer drone cinematography as well as a sprawling guitar solo about three minutes in.

Once you’ve returned from the spacey, five-minute journey that is Waxhead’s “Opinions”, you can try your hand at winning a Crosley Cruiser portable record player! Valued at $169.95 each, we’ve got two to pry out of the hands of the BLUNT staff give away thanks to SurfStitch.
