Twenty One Pilots Share New Video for “Heavydirtysoul”
Another day, another slightly confusing and brain-meltingly powerful hit of visual excellence from Twenty One Pilots. The schizoid-pop demons (who are set to kick off their Australian tour in Sydney TOMORROW!) have dropped – surprise! – a new music video for “Heavydirtysoul”, the opening track from last year’s Blurryface LP.
What’s notable is that the 3.25-minute clip isn’t actually billed as a ‘music video’ – whether it’s part of the duo’s ever-brooding conspiracy puzzle or just a neat lil’ thing to keep the hype booming with a full year of tours on the horizon, the video is labeled as a ‘circle’. It makes sense, we guess: the clip is shot so that the camera is constantly rolling around Tyler [Joseph, vocals/synth] and Josh [Dun, drums], and if you’ll note, it loops almost flawlessly.
Blurryface was released in May 2015, and was a minor sleeper hit with a sudden rise to mainstream radio in the early weeks of 2016. The band are currently underway with an 12-date Australiasian tour (including a run at this year’s Groovin The Moo) but if you were planning on grabbing tickets to a show, you’re in bad luck: all dates have long, long sold out.
