The Ghost Inside Reunite Onstage For The First Time Since Accident

The most resilient band in the entire universe, metalcore legends The Ghost Inside, have reunited onstage for the first time since their tragic bus crash last year, which left the act’s members with severe injuries and led to two fatalities. TGI took to the stage at the Alternative Press Music Awards together to accept their award for “Most Dedicated Fanbase”. Scroll down to check out the emotional scene.

Frontman Jonathan Vigil dedicated the award “not just to the fans but to the two drivers who passed away in the accident”. He also described the impact of their supporters on their recovery, discussing how “fans brought” him “back to life” and made him want to get on stage again. Bassist Jim Riley noted that he “didn’t think, eight months ago, that I’d be standing here with these guys again – I didn’t think we’d ever be standing again”, telling fans that that’s “because of you, you are the inspiration”.

The Ghost Inside’s strength in this incredibly tough time has seen them battle through amputated limbs, bone infections and numerous, gruelling surgeries. Despite that, they’re gearing up to play Warped Tour next year, pushing through it all with incredible strength. The other challenge they’ve faced throughout their recovery has been funding it, with the insane expenses imposed upon them by the US health care system. You can still donate to their Gofundme, which exceeded its $150k goal thanks to the support of TGI’s fans and colleagues, here.
