The Ghost Inside Are Now A Five-Piece; Add New Guitarist

Just two days after announcing their part on the Vans Warped Tour ’17 lineup, The Ghost Inside have made another incredible stride, introducing Chris Davis as the band’s second guitarist.

As the Californian metalcore heroes continue their fight to recovery – having wound up in a violent bus crash last November and enduring setback after setback since – they’re keeping one eye toward the future. While an instagram post announcing Davis’ induction specified that “playing shows is the furthest thing from our minds at the moment,” it’s hard not to see the quintet slaying arenas within the year with such enormous progress being made.

Davis had previously toured with The Ghost Inside throughout 2015, and is far from a beginner when it comes to mayhem in the metalcore circuit – from 2010 through ’15, he was known primarily for being the resident shred lord in Texas In July.

Take a peek at the band’s Instagram announcement below:

New music is still a while off, however, and for now, recovery is the primary mission: drummer Andrew Tkaczyk has been quickly regaining his strength after losing a leg, while guitarist Zack Johnson lost several toes as a result of his injuries, and vocalist Jonathan Vigil – who is otherwise learning to walk again – is currently battling a bone infection.

Given the United States’ current health care system, the medical costs for each member have probably reached unfathomable heights by this point – the band are accepting donations to offset this slightly with a Gofundme campaign, which you should definitely chuck some spare change into. $157,620 has been raised thus far, but in honesty, that’s just a drop in the ocean of help the band could use.
