Slipknot’s Corey Taylor To Guest On Upcoming Korn Album

It’s no secret that Korn have been spreading the word and building hype for their forthcoming album, with guitarist and co-founder Brian “Head” Welch promising a back-to-basics approach for their first release in three years.

Well, that release just got a hell of a lot more enticing with the news that Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor will guest on one of the album’s tracks.

Speaking with renowned UK publication Metal Hammer, Korn’s James “Munky” Shaffer has revealed that Taylor’s track is “going to be a fan favourite” saying, “We have Corey singing on one track and he really lets loose. On a heaviness scale of one to 10 with 10 being the 1994 self-titled, this album is a definite nine.”

The guitarist went on to add that, since Welch returned to the fold in 2013 for The Paradigm Shift (his first appearance with the band since 2003’s Take A Look In The Mirror), the band has been cruising along like “a well-oiled machine”.

“When Head and I start writing riffs together, we have this endless stream of creativity – we’re like Korn’s yin and yang,” he stated.

The nu metallers are set to embark on a lengthy US tour, which kicks off July 16th in Chicago and looks set to roll on through to the end of October, coming to a close in Sacramento on the 22nd.
