Motörhead’s 1976 recordings will be released as The Manticore Tapes on June 27, featuring early tracks, alternate takes, and a live performance.

In an exciting move for Motörhead fans, the band is set to release The Manticore Tapes on June 27, unveiling a piece of rock history that’s been hidden for nearly five decades. Recorded in 1976 during the band’s early years, these previously unreleased tracks showcase the raw power and groundbreaking energy of the “three amigos” – Lemmy Kilmister, Fast Eddie Clarke, and Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor – at a pivotal moment in their career.

Motörhead recorded these tracks at the renowned Manticore Studio, famously owned by the prog-rock legends Emerson, Lake & Palmer, but the material remained in the vault until now. The upcoming release includes studio recordings, alternate takes, and a live performance that captures the band’s unrelenting drive as they began to make their mark in rock ‘n’ roll.
