Clowns Make Complainant Butt Of Joke

Ahhh punk music, is there anything it can’t do? Aussie institution Frenzal Rhomb are currently in the midst of their massive Friendless Summer tour with Melbourne scamps Clowns along for the booze-filled ride. Given the last time we saw Frenzal play at a pub there was a punter crowdsuring in a wheelchair, it’s fair game to say that pretty much anything goes when you’re at one of their shows.

Despite the fact that 99% of you would consider that to be general knowledge, one attendee at Frenzal’s recent show in Ulladulla had something of a rude awakening. “I am writing this letter to you after myself and others witnessed a disgusting performance at the Marina Hotel in Ulladulla this week by ‘rock acts’ Frenzal Rhomb and The Clowns,” the letter begins. “I paid $35 to witness some utterly horrifying ‘entertainment’ and frankly, I’m disgusted that this was allowed anywhere near our town.”

As you probably could have guessed, it only gets better from there: “I believe management and both bands playing at the rock concert should write a formal apology and also a promise that they never enter this town again.” Well, let’s just say that “The Clowns” decided to heed that request. Earlier this evening, they posted the following on their Facebook page:

Official complaint from last nights show.Dear Ms Baumer,We are terribly sorry. Here's the refund for your ticket. Keep the change.Kind regards,Clowns xoxo

Because of course they did. Fans have naturally sprung to the band’s defence, slamming the complainant for not recognising how truly lucky she was to witness such a gig for only 35 bucks. If this isn’t reason enough to catch Frenzal and Clowns at their final shows in Narrabeen and Windsor, then we don’t know what is. This is probably the best free advertising they could have ever hoped for.
