Bad Religion Guitarist Calls Out Bring Me The Horizon; Insta Beef Ensues

Bring Me The Horizon

Congratulations, Instagram! This weekend you’re the proud owner of some A+ muso beef with Bad Religion guitarist Brian Baker calling out Bring Me The Horizon for their apparent arrogance at this year’s Resurrection Fest in Spain.

Baker shared the below photo to Instagram of a backstage flyer which states, “These people are not to be stopped ever. They may not have a pass. They can escort who they want where they want with or without a pass.” Not pictured: The words “BOW DOWN IN THE PRESENCE OF GREATNESS” (probably).

I’m going to stop these people every time I see them today and tell them how much their band sucks

The guitarist captioned the pic, “I’m going to stop these people every time I see them today and tell them how much their band sucks.”

His post didn’t go unnoticed by the Brits though, with frontman Oli Sykes taking the time out to comment, “You should of, I could of asked you why you’ve been going before Christ and you are playing under us, you sorry old wrinkly bastard. P.s saw you a couple of times and you said nada. Willy Woofter.”

Fellow bandmate Mat Nicholls added, “Hahah, I can’t imagine being as old as you are and still acting like a 14 year old girl. Saw you at least 10 times and you didn’t bat an eye lid… You got bigger things to worry about nowadays anyway, like ya pension, or cold weather… Dickhead.”

Sykes also threw in a final, “Yeah we are not your enemy, winter is your enemy.”

Presumably letting out an audible sigh, Baker waded into the comments section to address the issue, pointing out that the post’s meaning flew over the BMTH boys’ heads: “It seems you’ve missed the point entirely. The issue here is entitlement. My post was a comment on your collective delusion that working local crew at a thirty band festival should be required to memorize your faces to spare you the indignity of breaking stride on the way to your backstage oasis or even worse, the humiliation of carrying credentials. Your literal display of arrogance (and the hilariously unrecognized irony within it) was what I was sharing with my followers. I honestly don’t know if your music is bad or good – it’s not for old people! I meant that you suck as humans. Sorry for the confusion.”

Naturally the post is now a battleground between Bad Religion and Bring Me The Horizon fans, with such gems as “You suck. Your band sucks. Eat a dick and quit stirring shit with bands that are relevant, old washed up fuck” and “Excuse me but if you think a band like Bad Religion is afraid of some 12yo girls going through puberty you’re wrong”.
