Ahren Stringer, the former bassist and clean vocalist of The Amity Affliction, has embarked on a new journey – this time down the aisle, ahead of going to Mexico to record his new solo album.
On Monday (5 May), Ahren Stringer married his partner, Lucy, marking a fresh start following his recent departure from the band. Just last month, a demo clip surfaced online of new music.
The wedding, held in what appears to be an intimate setting, looks like it was a celebration of love and new beginnings. While most details remain private, close friends and family gathered to witness the union of the couple, who walked down the aisle to “True Companion” by Marc Cohn, before hosting the reception at the Bakehouse Steakhouse. His new wife, Lucy, has shared a number of photos online already.
Speaking to Blunt, Stringer says the big day was the “time of his life.”
“We got so many comments on having the best wedding anyone had ever been to, because it was so real, everyone was laughing, everyone was crying… ok, maybe it was me crying.”
“It’s all a clean slate, it’s the first day of the rest of my life, a new band and a solo career,” he adds. “We’re headed to Mexico to record the new album with Yung Yogi and some of the most insane valedictorians in the music industry.”
Speaking on how he feels to be married, he says it feels “like heaven.”
“She picked me up when I was at the lowest point in my life, Lucy was my rock, she’s helped me more than anyone could ever understand, if it wasn’t for her I don’t think I’d still be here,” he says.
Additional photos of Stringer’s wedding were officially provided to Blunt, which you can check out below (including a fresh tattoo seemingly from the big day – “Tim Rix helped me organise a surprise personalised flash sheet for Lucy when we went to sign the marriage certificate,” Stringer notes – and the couple’s rings).

Stringer’s departure from The Amity Affliction earlier this year was met with mixed reactions. Stringer himself confirmed his departure at the end of January, while the band announced the split in February. At the time, they cited an irreparable breakdown in their relationship with Stringer, who had been a founding member since 2003.
The separation followed a series of personal challenges for Stringer, who has since confirmed he’s working on solo music amidst a reported trademark dispute over his former band. While there’s been no additional news on the dispute, fans of the musician are waiting patiently (or not so patiently, depending on who you ask) to see how his new music shakes out when it arrives with his iconic vocals.
Despite the professional upheaval, Stringer’s personal life has taken a positive turn. His marriage to Lucy signifies a new chapter, one that fans hope will bring stability and happiness. With the trip to Mexico in the very near feature to record the new album, it looks like we’ll be hearing more sooner rather than later.
As Stringer steps away from the limelight of The Amity Affliction and embarks on his solo career, supporters are eager to see what the future holds for him, both personally and professionally.
For now, Ahren is embracing this new beginning, hand in hand with his wife, Lucy.
