Picture this. You’re three vodka sodas deep at a karaoke night. You’ve just queued up ‘All The Small Things’ because of course you have.
Halfway through screaming “She left me roses by the stairs,” you hit the floor for dramatic effect. You’re giving it everything. Pretty pleased with your performance, you dust yourself off receiving effusive compliments from the crowd and your mates. Next thing, you find out Tom DeLonge, actual Blink-182 co-founder, alien enthusiast, and co-writer of the song you just massacred was sitting ten feet away, watching the whole thing.
I will flag, this is not a hypothetical. This actually happened to a woman.
A TikTok video has gone viral of an unnamed woman absolutely going for it at a karaoke bar and it’s perfect. Off-key, overly physical and a little bit feral.
Midway through the clip, the camera pans from the stage to a dude sitting calmly in the back. Backwards cap. Slight smirk. Yep, it’s Tom DeLonge. Just vibing. And when the song wraps, he bursts out laughing like he’s just seen the most perfect reenactment of his entire career.
According to the caption, the woman had no idea DeLonge was there. Her friends lost their minds. Later footage shows her meeting him post-performance, presumably still recovering from the shock that she accidentally did a Blink-182 tribute set directly to the guy who wrote it.
The video’s already clocked over 2.2 million views, with one commenter summing it up perfectly: “I bet when he wrote this song, this is exactly how he imagined it being performed.”
And honestly, Same.
