The annual Halloween cover set from The Wonder Years to go digital this year

In a world that’s somewhat upside down this year, it’s nice to be able to count on something. The Wonder Years are here to provide that comfort, not letting our little apocalypse get in the way of their Occasionally Annual Halloween Extravaganza. Continuing their tradition of performing covers for All Hallows’ Eve, the Pennsylvanian pop punks will be undertaking the mighty task of an entire set of Blink-182.

“The time has come to dig out your Billabong T-shirt and jelly bracelets,” the outfit jovially commented. For the cover set this year, the band’s six members will be split into two three-pieces. What will follow is a duel of Blink-182 sets in costume and in character. Following on will of course be the performance of original songs, though that isn’t the drawcard for this year’s big party.

If it’s anything like last year, it will be something indeed. When live sets with people were still a prospect, The Wonder Years performed in 2019 as Limp Bizkit, outfits and all. Their supports also joined in on the bit, with Future Teens as Carly Rae Jepsen, Homesafe as Weezer and Trash Boat as Oasis.

If you’re in the United States of America, The Wonder Years are also encouraging their fans to register to vote. If they get to 1000 voter actions over here by the 20th of October, they’re planning to release a new song. They’ve been long outspoken about bigots and assholes using the platform of religion for evil, so we don’t have to tell you who they’re voting for this year. The last full-length record from the lads was 2018’s Sister Cities, so we’re about due for a full suite of bangers from the alternative mainstays.
