Bring Me The Horizon’s Oli Sykes and Alissic Are Expecting Twins

Share

Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes and his partner, artist and alt-pop singer Alissic, have just announced they’re expecting twins. A boy and a girl.

The couple shared the news on Instagram over the weekend (May 11), with Sykes simply captioning the post “dois” — Portuguese for “two.” In the video, the pair take part in a cupcake gender reveal at their home, each biting into a cake to uncover the news.

Alissic goes first, revealing a pink centre. “Fucking hell, we’re having a baby girl!” Sykes says, visibly stunned as they embrace. Sykes then bites into his, revealing a blue filling. “No fucking way,” he repeats, while Alissic tears up and he continues eating. “It’s really tasty, too,” he adds mid-celebration.

The couple have been married since 2017, after meeting through a project Alissic was working on for Sykes’ clothing label, Drop Dead. Since then, they’ve stayed fairly private about their personal life. This has made the announcement all the more surprising for fans who’ve followed Sykes’ chaotic and often brutally open journey through the public eye.

While the video is tender, the reality of what’s ahead feels like a genuine new chapter for the notoriously intense frontman. It’s a far cry from the Oli Sykes we first saw screaming his lungs out in snakebites and band tees.

There’s no word yet on how this will affect Sykes’ schedule, especially with Bring Me The Horizon still booked for major festival slots and a full North American arena run later in the year. But if there’s ever been a reason to slow down, even temporarily, this might very well be it.

Twins, one of each, and a cupcake reveal. The post-human future just got a little more domestic.
