Watch The Full Trailer For The All-Female Ghostbusters Reboot

The new and very epic Ghostbusters trailer is out, so if you’re struggling to determine whether you’re dreading it or shaking in anticipation, you can watch it in full below. The upcoming movie is an all-female reboot of the franchise, replacing the original squad with comedy goddesses Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig and Saturday Night Live’s Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.

Judging by the trailer, which sets the film up to be one hell of an homage to the originals, it’s looking like Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis (R.I.P.) and Ernie Hudson will be proud. The film is set 30 years after Ghostbusters 2, following the paranormal adventures of the four leads in New York City.

Paul Feig, the man behind Bridesmaids, The Heat and Spy, will direct the film, filling in the shoes of Ivan Reitmanwho will return as producer. Feig noted that what he loved about the OG films was “the idea of funny people fighting the paranormal with science”. For that reason, it was “really important” for scientists to feature prominently in the film.

Speaking on the all-female cast and the frustrating naysayers criticising it, he established that he just wants “the funniest people and the funniest people I happen to know are these women. It should never be about that”.

Ghostbusters is due to be released in Australia on July 14. Who you gonna call? Probably your local cinema.
