The Killers Get Into The Christmas Spirit With New Single
We’re coming up to our fourth year without a new album from The Killers (Battle Born was released waaaaaay back in 2012), but while we hold on tightly for some new info on their upcoming fifth LP, the Las Vegas alt-rock outfit have gifted us with a new Christmas-themed single to keep us headbanging throughout the holiday season.
“Dirt Sledding” is the band’s tenth (!) annual yuletide jam, with a new single dropping around this time, without fail, every year since 2006. Following on from 2007’s “Don’t Shoot Me Santa” and 2012’s “I Feel It In My Bones”, the track also caps off their unofficial ‘Santa Trilogy’.
Since releasing their first Christmas banger – “A Great Big Sled” – all those years ago, The Killers have donated all proceeds from the tracks to the charity (RED), which aims to fight AIDS on a global scale. Over the past 10 years, the effort has raised over $850,000 – a number which only looks to soar in the future.
