Saosin Return With New Single Off Their Upcoming Album
The day is finally here: Saosin have released their first new song since 2009. The tune, titled “The Silver String”, sees the idolised post-hardcore act reunite with their original frontman Anthony Green.
It should come as no surprise that the track has the fingerprints of Green’s other project, Circa Survive, all over it. He returned to the act, who have had a troubled history with singers, in 2014. Prior to that, he performed live with them after his replacement/former vocalist Cove Reber departed in 2010.
Last month Saosin announced that they’d signed to Epitaph and had a new LP in the works, and today they’ve officially given us the details of their first full-length with Green and their third studio album, Along The Shadow. You can have it in your hot little hands from May 20. The album was produced by bassist Chris Sorenson and engineered by guitarist Beau Burchell, while the scene’s favourite collaborator Will Yip (Title Fight, Tigers Jaw) took the wheel with vocal production.
Green described making the album as “such a sentimental thing” for him. “You can literally hear us making amends with each other while lamenting on our experiences together”.
Hopefully the new LP will spell an upcoming trip Down Under for the band, who were last here back in 2008. Green visited with his main project, Circa Survive, last September.
