Periphery Bring The Album Hype With New Tune, “The Way The News Goes…”

Need a couple more super-technical djent jams in your life? Don’t worry, Washington shredders Periphery have you covered. Their fifth (or fourth, depending on how you look at the whole Juggernaut thing) full-length, Periphery III: Select Difficulty, is set to drop this Friday via Sumerian – judging by how downright fierce some of these tracks are, we’re pretty certain the sextet decided on “Hard Mode”.

Before the LP drops, though, they’ve chucked us a lil’ teaser in the form of “The Way The News Goes…” Standing in at a brief 5-minutes long, it’s probably one of the shorter Periphery jams (not an exaggeration, either), and rest assured it’s just as thick, proggy and vocally intense as the band’s best always are. Spencer Sotello crushes it on vocals, unsurprisingly, and oh, sweet mother of kick drums.

Check out a stream of “The Way The News Goes…” right goddamn now, then head on over to their webstore and shell out your last couple hundred on a massive pre-order before it’s too late (you know you wanna). Also, keep an eye out for our interview with guitarist Mark Holcomb dropping in the coming days!
