Deftones Share New Song “Doomed User”

Beloved alt-metallers Deftones are streaming a new banger titled “Doomed User”, which is lifted from their upcoming full-length, Gore. Give it a listen here.

The song, which sounds a little bit like your screen name for a metal forum you visited when you were 12, premiered over at Sirius XM, streaming for 24 hours before it becomes available for purchase. Frontman Chino Moreno described it as having a “rockin’ rhythm and a high tech sound that will make you shake your body down to ground”.  Whatever that means.

“Doomed User” is the second tune to be posted from the forthcoming LP, preceded by “Prayers/Triangles, which you can hear below. Gore marks the outfit’s eighth studio album and will be released on April 8 via Warner Music.  It follows on from 2012’s Koi No Yokan (yes, it has been four bloody years), which peaked at #11 on the US Billboard 200 Chart. If you’re in the mood for more, Deftones will also release a B-Sides & Rarities disc on 2x gold LP, which you can pick up on Record Store Day.

With their new album coming in less than a month and singles killing it left, right and centre, the only question remaining is whether the band will make up for the cancellation of Soundwave 2016 by embarking on an Australian tour. Don’t you dare uncross those fingers.

Refresh your memory of “Prayers/Triangles” below.
