Against Me! Have Released A New Single, And Yep, It’s Perfect

It’s official: Shape Shift With Me is going to be Against Me!‘s best full-length, and one of the best punk albums of the goddamn decade. That’s, at least, what we can gather from the two songs we’ve heard so far: “333” dropped with the LP announcement last month – its upbeat energy making it a staple in our work commute playlists – and now, we have a brand new track to sink our impatient teeth into: “Haunting, Haunted, Haunts”.

The cut comes as the twelfth instalment of Adult Swim‘s annual single series, which this year brings us 25 free singles across 25 weeks. “Haunting, Haunted, Haunts” drifts away from the carefree alt-rock catchiness of “333”, instead drop-kicking our eardrums with some fiesty throwback vibes recalling the early Fat Wreck outings. Keep an eye out for a roaring lil’ solo at 1:37, too – then wrap your ears around this acoustic version, and interchange for about two days straight.

Shape Shift With Me drops on September 16th via the band’s own Total Treble label; a follow-up to 2014’s critically praised Transgender Dysphoria Blues, the 12-track outing has been described by frontwoman Laura Jane Grace as “the transgender response to the Rolling Stones’ Exile On Main St., Liz Phair’s Exile In Guyville and the Streets’ A Grand Don’t Come For Free.”

Grace is also releasing a memoir, of all things, this November – Tranny: Confessions of Punk Rock’s Most Infamous Anarchist Sellout will hit shelves on November 15th. The band currently don’t have any Australian tour dates lined up, which is a situation we can only hope management will rectify immediately.

Jam the fuck out with “Haunting, Haunted, Haunts” below!
