The Mandalorian Season 2 return: “Everything gets bigger”

Share

Such was the impact of The Mandalorian Season 1, that we the fans are still huffing residual fumes from the live action Star Wars series, and more or less content with whatever fix we can get. Now, we can get sufficiently excited for some more Mando content to sink our teeth into, with season 2 now mere moments away, and showrunner Jon Favreau teasing an epic return thats upscaled in every way.

After seamlessly laying down the foundations for The Mandalorian’s universe, Season 1 left us with little to go on, other than the promise of more adventures between The Mandalorian and The Child. Speaking to EW, Favreau explains that now the pleasantries are out of the way, Season 2 will be “introducing a larger story in the world.”

“The stories become less isolated, yet each episode has its own flavor, and hopefully we’re bringing a lot more scope to the show.”

Adding to this, executive producer Dave Filoni notes: “Everything gets bigger, the stakes get higher, but also the personal story between the Child and the Mandalorian develops in a way I think people will enjoy.”

Those playing at home will be well aware of all the drip fed updates from the past 12 months, including the involvement of Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano, the return of Boba Fett and unknown involvement of Timothy Olyphant. Just how those pieces will fall into the bigger picture is still unknown, but as fans of the series will know, a little bit of mystery goes a long way.

Teasing us further, a collection of previously unseen images from the series have been released, confirming the return of Carl Weathers’ Greef, Gina Carano’s as Cara Dune, and of course The Child and Pedro Pascal’s Mandalorian.

The Mandalorian Season 2 will return to it’s home of Disney+ as soon as Friday, 30th October.
