Panic! At The Disco Bump Up Their 2017 Oz Tour After Fans Go Crazy
Turns out people still give a shit about Panic! At The Disco – they’re this writer’s all-time favourite band (they’ve written pretty much every post about the Vegas big beat outfit here), but, like, 2006 was a long time ago, guys!
Tickets for the Brendon Urie-fronted ~experience~ went on sale a couple of weeks ago to an absolutely frenzied response: while Perth has stayed pretty calm, tix for the Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane shows all sold out within a couple of hours – or in the case of Brisbane’s jaunt, minutes. Panic! fans are crazy. We love it.
Responding to the unprecedented hype, Brisbane’s show has been upgraded from the sub-2,000 capacity Eatons Hill Hotel to the 5,500-cap Eatons Hill Outdoors. Sydney fans will have to hit their local scalper up if they want to see cuts from January’s Death Of A Bachelor played live, but for the Melbournites among us, a second show will go down on January 29th.
Next year’s tour will mark Panic!’s first headline run Down Under in nine years – the last time we saw Urie and co. hit their own venues, they were a four-piece band and looked like a stoner version of The Beatles. And Urie had a mop haircut. It was great.
