Millencolin Are Bringing Their ‘True Brew’ Tour Down Under
For over 23 years, Swedish skate quartet Millencolin have had the international punk rock game on lockdown. Seven years spread the gap between 2008’s Machine 15 and last year’s True Brew, and while the wait was undeniably excruciating, fans will agree that it was more than worth it. Dropping in at #16 on the ARIA Charts, True Brew marked a return to the band’s hardcore-tinged roots, bitchslapping listeners so hard with its fervency that we’re still feeling the sting nine months later.
Touring for the record was even more intense. It’s seldom we find a band shuttering out live shows as convulsive as Millencolin – especially with the same four members kicking since ’92 – but as the YouTube videos made it clear, True Brew‘s cycle was an unmissable one for purveyors of all things punk. Of course, that cycle isn’t over just yet – the four-piece have just announced plans to hit Australia later in the year, a six-date run spreading out across the arse end of April and beginning of May. And yes, they’re hitting Adelaide, Perth (well, Fremantle), and – because why the fuck not? – Coolangatta!
Millencolin were last seen in the country for Soundwave 2015 (which was also the final installment of the festival, for those who just crawled out from under their rock). BLUNT caught the band shredding Stage 3 in Sydney, and… Insanity. Pure fucking insanity. Seriously fam, don’t miss this shit.
