Mayday Parade Announce 2016 Australian Tour
One of last year’s biggest and most badarse gigs was Yellowcard’s headline jaunt in Sydney, not even for the fact that they themselves were on fire, but for the show-stealing volatility of their opening act – pop-punk luminaries Mayday Parade. Over a year after blowing our minds with their thirty-minute rampage of punk jumps and pop hooks, the Tallahassee quintet are coming back Down Under in support of their 2015 masterpiece, Black Lines.
The boys will hit Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne this October, but because the East Coast alone can’t contain their impetuosity, they’ll also visit our friends along the roads less travelled in Adelaide and Perth. The six-date run spreads from the 6th through 13th, where they’ll hit some of their biggest Australian venues to date. Considering they sold out every single show on their last headline run – and Black Lines really is an album full of bangers – we’d advise setting alarms to snatch these tickets.
Select Touring and Taperjean aren’t fucking around with opening dates, either. New Jersey emo icons The Early November – a headline-worthy act in their own right – will open for Mayday Parade on all dates of the tour. Their fourth album, Imbue, was released last May to outstanding acclaim, with live shows any fan of early-’00s alt-rock would drool over.
