Dead Letter Circus Announce Tour; $1 From All Tickets Donated To Sea Shepherd
Today has been pretty goddamn incredible for fans of live music – not so much for their wallets, but hey, at least we know there isn’t any drought of top notch tours on the horizon. Following today’s other huge announcements of a Pierce The Veil headline run and Billy Talent‘s return Down Under, Brisbane alt-proggers Dead Letter Circus have spilled the beans on an enormous national tour to kick off this August.
The 11-date run comes in support of Dead Letter Circus’ brand new single, “The Burning Number”. A music video has also been released for the clip (which you can check out below), comprising clips from other tours that recently blew our minds. It’s the third single to drop from last year’s ARIA-nominated Aesthesis, following “While You Wait” and “In Plain Sight”.
With killer tours in overabundance, you’re probably feeling the sting of having to scrape by for second-priorities like food – or you’re feeling the cold, because you used your rent money to stock up on September shows. There’s good reason why you should shell out for tickets to DLC’s upcoming jaunt, though, as they’re set to donate $1 from every ticket to Sea Shepherd. For those unaware, Sea Shepherd helps to fund fuelling vessels used for South Sea missions, feeding the crew and raising awareness for the oceans.
“It never ceases to amaze me the level of support Sea Shepherd receives from caring, compassionate people like Dead Letter Circus,” says Jeff Hansen, managing director for Sea Shepherd. “Without this selfless support, our ships would remain idle at dock and not be able to defend our oceans. Sea Shepherd is delighted to have the support and on board partnership of Dead Letter Circus with a dollar from each ticket sold going straight to our fuel tanks, plus stalls at all their gigs that we encourage all to get along and see.”
Heading along for the ride is the solo project of Clint Boge – otherwise known as the frontman of The Butterfly Effect – and Melbourne rockers Rival Fire. The tour will hit all of the vital stops along the East Coast (Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and everywhere in-between) as well as Perth and Fremantle across August and September.
