Brand New Have Delayed Their Final Album With An Apology Letter
It’s been a weird couple of months for Brand New fans – the seminal emo outfit “announced” their break-up two years in advance via a shirt back in June, just a couple of after releasing a new single, “I Am A Nightmare”. The band later confirmed that a new album was on the way – and set for release before 2016’s end – though it’d be, obviously, their last.
Unfortunately, the band took to Facebook today to explain that, while their initial plans were wholly genuine, the brand new Brand New disc would be knocked back into the unknown distant future. “At some point previous, we, Brand New, admitted our plans to release a record this year. These plans were authentic, but we are changing them,” they wrote – via typewriter – in a statement.
No word yet on whether this means the album will hit shelves in 2017, but given the ambiguity in their writings (was anybody expecting anything else from Brand New though?) it’s hard to say.
The band are currently underway with a US tour alongside Modern Baseball and The Front Bottoms, where they’re playing their iconic 2006 opus, The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me in full… And… Uh… Y’know, guys, if you’re reading this, feel free to announce some Australian dates soon, hey?
