Are Trophy Eyes About To Drop A #ChemicalMiracle On Us?

Screen shot 2016-08-01 at 1.04.16 PM

In 2016, the best way to catch the public eye is to go all-out arcane and drop the most cryptic shit you can – Bring Me The Horizon took to the streets with their umbrella stickers, Storm The Sky let sin find them via snail mail, and does anyone else remember when Northlane set the entire internet abuzz with the Singularity hype back in 2013?

We truly are living in the era of ambiguity, and now, it looks like Novocastrian sadcore shredders Trophy Eyes are up to something as well.

There’s a good chance you’ve seen these #ChemicalMiracle stickers floating around as of late – if not pasted on alley walls and skate park signpoles, all over Instagram and the Twitter feeds of your favourite musicians. Even 24Hundred have jumped in on the hype, which begs the question… WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!?

Scanning the QR code tacked on the stickers brings us straight to Trophy Eyes’ official website, which pretty much locks in that this is their doing (but how fucking hilarious would it be if they just got the websites mixed up and this had nothing to do with them?). At the time of writing, the site is splashed over with a short video teasing the tropical noose logo and vibe-y lil’ ambient beat; not much to work with in terms of figuring our what the exact deal is, but hey, the tune isn’t half bad.

The quintet’s last outing was 2014’s Mend, Move On, so it goes without saying that a new album is well overdue. Could we be on the verge of a new LP assumedly titled Chemical Miracle? The stickers nod to the date of October 14th, which could be when we might get out hands on a hypothetical opus – if an announcement comes before the end of this week, the band would have a decent month to get their promo game together.

The timing is pretty solid, too, with a solid slate of touring ahead – including a national run this month with The Amity Affliction.

We’re not saying you should get your hopes up… But ours are.

Hype yourselves up for the #ChemicalMiracle with a classic Trophy Eyes belter below!
