Watch Underoath Perform With Aaron Gillespie For First Time In Seven Years
Back in August we caught word that Underoath would be reforming to play Self Help Festival 2016 after teasing that a “Rebirth is coming”. Well, consider the beloved post-hardcore visionaries reborn, because they performed together a couple nights ago for the first time since they wrapped a farewell tour a little over three years ago.
Something of a secret pre-tour bender for diehard Underoath fans, Alternative Press reports that the band played an intimate show to roughly 400 sweaty fans at Crowbar in Ybor City, Florida. The price of admission was merely a tenner, and entry was based on a first come, first served basis. Official footage from the show is yet to surface, but a stack of fans uploaded clips to social media and now we can reap the benefits from halfway across the world. Ain’t life grand?
Tomorrow night the band officially kick off their US reunion tour at a sold-out show in St Petersberg, Florida before embarking on a further 30 dates across the country. Playing They’re Only Chasing Safety (2004) and Define The Great Line (2006) in full each night, these shows also mark the band’s first with founding member Aaron Gillespie in seven years.
