The Ghost Inside’s Zach Johnson Loses Toes In Wake Of Bus Accident
Man, The Ghost Inside just cannot catch a break. More than two months on from the devastating tour bus accident they were involved in at the tail end of last year, the band’s members are still attempting to get on with their lives and overcome the injuries they sustained in the crash.
Today guitarist Zach Johnson has tweeted a rather graphic before-and-after image which reveals that he lost two toes on his left foot. “My 5th toe was barely on my foot, didn’t survive. 4th got infected. 3rd-5th toes were destroyed. Bones/vessels gone,” Johnson’s tweet reads.
It wasn’t that long ago that we saw drummer Andrew Tkaczyk explain how he woke up from a 10-day coma to find out that his right leg had been amputated at the knee. Being the trooper that he is, Tkaczyk insisted that he will play drums again and that he “can’t wait to get back on the kit”.
The Color Morale’s Garret Rapp came up with the genius idea of a tribute album with all funds being donated to The Ghost Inside, and we couldn’t be more on board. Whether or not Rapp’s idea will get off the ground, in the meantime you can donate to the band’s Gofundme page right here. Every little bit helps, especially with the United States’ less-than-favourable health care system, so shell out if you can.
As always, we’re wishing The Ghost Inside as speedy a recovery as possible and hope to see them back at it again soon. Keep swinging, boys.
