The Ghost Inside’s Andrew Tkaczyk Inches Closer To Walking On His Own

Andrew Tkaczyk Recovery 2016

It’s been a whopping five months since the tragic bus accident that left the members of metalcore outfit The Ghost Inside with injuries left, right and centre and resulted in two fatalities. Drummer Andrew Tkaczyk shared an update today of his recovery, and inspirationally, he’s inching closer to walking on his own following the loss of his leg.

“I’ve been working on getting back to walking with a prosthesis,” he commented on Instagram. “Today was the first time walking with a cane and no parallel bars for support.” He also noted that he “threw in a little Comeback Kid” during recovery and offered his support for the Detroit Red Wings game in the USA (they lost that game, but it’s the thought that counts).

Earlier this month, Tkaczyk returned to playing drums, sharing footage of himself behind the kit. Despite the extensive injuries of the band’s members, they’re intending to be fit for the stage by next year, having recently announced that they will play on Vans Warped Tour 2017. They’ve also added Texas In July’s Chris Davis to their squad, recruiting him as a second guitarist after he toured with the band in 2015.

If you’d like to contribute to the medical costs for The Ghost Inside, whose bills are being issued by the uncaring institution that is the United States’ health care system, the band is still accepting donations on their Gofundme.
