Slaves Are Breaking Up

Slaves

After a mere two years together – and just two weeks on from shredder Alex Lyman leaving the fold – US band Slaves have called it quits and will play their final show tonight in Santa Cruz, California.

Needless to say, the internet has been awash with MacBook taunts and the well-worn theory that everything frontman Jonny Craig touches inevitably turns to shit.

The post-hardcore crew have seemingly courted controversy at every turn of their short-lived career, last making waves after they called out their label, Artery Recordings, at the start of the year and following on from when they were kicked off the 2015 Vans Warped Tour for inappropriate conduct.

The final Santa Cruz show sees the band wrapping up a lengthy headline jaunt with Capture The Crown and Myka Relocate, though Slaves were set to tour throughout the UK and Europe with Palisades in June, which included a spot on this year’s coveted Download Festival lineup.

Craig’s tweets since the announcement have been a tad bizarre, hinting at what’s likely to be a new band or upcoming solo project in amongst claims about “fake ass fans”, but given the man has his (now former) band name tattooed on his forehead, it all seems pretty par for the course.
