Restoring Faith: Of Mice & Men’s Austin Carlile Finds Jesus

Of Mice & Men

Have you seen the light, brothers and sisters? Because Of Mice & Men’s Austin Carlile certainly has. According to a recent post on the frontman’s Instagram page, Carlile made his love for the Lord official over the weekend when he was baptised, announcing to his fans that he has turned to christianity.

“This past Sunday I was finally baptized, after taking 28 years to realize God’s work playing out in my life and that I had to get out of the middle of the road and fully follow Him,” Carlile wrote. “His grace has been overwhelming, and with every obstacle I’ve faced I’m proud to say my hope through HIM is what has pushed me to continue on, and to keep fighting.”

While it’s not exactly something you’d expect from a performer currently on tour with Slipknot and Marilyn Manson, we welcome the singer’s newfound faith all the same. For years Carlile has been plagued by serious health problems resulting from Marfan syndrome, a genetic disorder that affects the body’s connective tissue, which has seen him undergo numerous surgeries.

Yesterday the Orange Country metalcore band announced that they’d be joining A Day To Remember on their Bad Vibes World Tour, which is set to hit Oz this December, as well as the UK and Europe throughout January and February 2017.
