Pennywise Announce 20th Anniversary Tour
Punk rock purists rejoice: ‘90s So-Cal mainstays Pennywise are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their seminal 1995 album, About Time, by coming out here for a run of shows alongside their pals in Anti-Flag. After 27 years of PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) – and by our count, upwards of 13 Australian tours – the honorary Australians will be treating crowds to their ‘new album of old songs’ with Yesterdays, a collection of songs written in the early days of the band (mostly by the late Jason Thirsk) that never made it off the cassette they were taped onto at rehearsals. That, and a truckload of hits from over the years like “Bro Hymn” and “Fuck Authority” to kick the nostalgia feels into high gear.
Even in 2015 Philly politi-punks Anti-Flag have kept fighting the good fight when it comes to getting across their anti-war, anti-poverty and anti-capitalist message, proudly continuing to give a voice to the voiceless on their ninth LP, American Spring. Needless to say, it’s a stellar punk rock pairing and we’ll see you in the pit in September.
Tickets on sale Tuesday July 14th @ 9am.
