Parkway Drive covered on Britain’s Got Talent. What?

parkway drive

When someone says “Britain’s Got Talent” what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Probably not metalcore, am I right?

On Saturday’s episode of Britain’s Got Talent contestant Sean Ellis performed a cover of Parkway Drive’s “Dark Days”. And it went down exactly as you’d expect it to. From the horrified looks of the audience, to the even more horrified reaction from the judges, it’s probably safe to say that Got Talent isn’t ready for a heavier sound.

While Simon Cowell isn’t rushing to make him the next Susan Boyle, he did win a new fan in Parkway’s own Winston McCall.

“Holy shit. So this lad here, @seaninblegh decided to go on UK national TV and sing DARK DAYS on Britain’s Got Talent. Aside from the fact that this is to me a mind blowing concept, he did an amazing job. I have played in front of some big crowds and some hostile crowds, but this is a whole new level of guts. My hat goes off to you man, bringing our music into this arena of public interaction was a very bold thing to do and you did it well. Thank you.
Ps, go check it out on his facebook page.”
