New At The Drive-In Is Coming
Holy shitballs, is today a good day for news or what. So we already know that the likes of Green Day, Blink-182 and Beartooth are in the studio working on new records that we’re just a tad excited to hear, but we bet you didn’t expect to see an announcement today from At The Drive-In.
The seminal post-hardcore band – who haven’t gifted us with new tunes since their life-affirming 2000 release, Relationship Of Command – have shared links to their website that suggest a new song, album announcement or something is on its way. That date they’re teasing? That’s tomorrow.
Sure, a 15-second teaser clip isn’t much to go by, but it’s a goddamn start – can you blame us for being hopeful? The last time the band were on our shores was for Splendour In The Grass in 2012 (and we don’t think anyone lucky enough to attend the 2001 Big Day Out will soon forget frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala’s sheep rant during the band’s set). At this stage an Australian tour seems like a total longshot, but stranger things have happened. The quintet have already locked in US festival slots in May at Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta, Georgia and Rock On The Range in Columbus, Ohio, so we’ll be keeping our ears to the ground for more news.
In the meantime, hear a snippet of new At The Drive-In below.
