Gerard Way, Deftones, Parkway Drive & More Announce Record Store Day Exclusives

Parkway Drive

For vinylphiles and general hipsters everywhere, Record Store Day is basically Christmas. Every year on the third Saturday of April, shops around the world – independent and corporate alike – gather ’round to celebrate our insatiable need, as consumers, to hoard as many rare and obscure presses as we can. Thankfully on our part, those special one-off releases are unfailingly awesome, and this year’s lineup is probably one of the best.

The newly released product listing for the 2016 celebration boasts a near-ridiculous 39 pages worth of PDF glory, amongst the hundreds of titles some that alternative fans have held out for for years. After teasing us since 2014, Gerard Way is finally dropping his double-A-side B-side from debut LP Hesitant Alien, “Pinkish” and “Don’t Try” on a coloured 7″. Deftones are also coming in hot with their B-Sides & Rarities disc on 2x gold LP, which also includes a DVD of videos, photos and more. Even our own Parkway Drive are joining in the celebrations, giving their 2007 opus Horizons the long-anticipated vinyl treatment with a yellow and blue splatter.

Those looking for some killer punk to spin on wax will find solace in NOFX‘s “Sid & Nancy” demo 7″, and those more pop-inclined have some new live material from Twenty One Pilots to jam out to (right before their Australian tour kicks off, too). That’s not even scratching the surface, either – Linkin Park, Disturbed, Echosmith, Nirvana, David Bowie, Anti-Flag and literally hundreds more will have exclusive pressings on offer – and goddamn, how our wallets are pissed about it.

It’s finally happening. We’re finally getting a studio perfect “Don’t Try” – check out a live version below!
