Founding Member Jim Ward Leaves At The Drive-In
In much the same out-of-the-blue way At The Drive-In hit us with the news that they were working on new music back in January, this morning they’ve announced via social media that guitarist and founding member Jim Ward has left the fold.
The influential post-hardcore band shared on their Facebook page that Ward, who formed the band with vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala back in 1993, “will not be joining [them] on future journeys” as their “ship prepares for voyage”.
Naturally, fans are experience varying levels of What The Actual Fuck with some commenting that they’ve outlaid a shit ton of money to essentially see The Mars Volta live. Others feel duped and are questioning the band’s motives, namely whether or not they were privy to Ward’s decision before announcing expansive US and European tours.
Needless to say, this won’t make for the reunion many were hoping for. If you’re keen to settle in for a lazy Saturday, grab yourself some popcorn and scroll through the comments to see ropeable fans lashing out at the band.
