Everclear Announce “Sparkle and Fade” Anniversary Tour
Dust off that flannel because Everclear are coming back to Australia to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their sophomore album, Sparkle And Fade – and they’re celebrating at a venue near you! Fronted by Art Alexakis, main songwriter and the only remaining original member, the band plans on playing their classic album in full along with some fan favourite singles and tracks from their upcoming album, Black Is The New Black.
Released back in 1995, a time where grunge singles lived in the Top 40 charts, Sparkle And Fade was also the band’s first certified platinum record. It spawned hit singles such as “Heroin Girl” and “Santa Monica”, which sky-rocketed the band to the forefront of the ’90s alt-rock scene. The band continued their success with 1997’s So Much For The Afterglow and 2000’s Songs From An American Movie, Vol. 1: Learning How To Smile, both of which were also certified platinum.
So for all you punters and underage YouTube commenters who want to travel back to the ’90s sans time-machine, come check them out and relive a piece of alternative rock history.
