Could We Be About To Hear Some Sneaky New Blink Material?
Are we about to hear the first skerricks of new Blink-182 material since their 2012 EP, Dogs Eating Dogs? A post on Tom DeLonge’s official Facebook page suggests that things in the Blink camp have continued to take a passive aggressive turn, with DeLonge hinting that he’ll be releasing material he’s been working on on March 1. In case you missed it, the Blink saga began with members Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker announcing via Facebook that DeLonge had left the band “indefinitely” and that Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba would be filling in for the band’s upcoming festival commitments (a post which has since been removed). It turns out DeLonge was as bewildered by the announcement as the hordes of fans wondering what the future of the band would hold, offering his version of events via his Facebook page.
We can only speculate that this cryptic announcement means the release of new Blink music (albeit in a slightly less desirable fashion than we’d have hoped), so stay tuned!
