Converse Have Invented A Shoe With A Built-In Guitar Pedal
The Converse brand has always been a staple investor in the music scene, so it should come as no surprise that they’ve designed the best Christmas gift possible: it’s called the “All Wah”, and it’s a high top Chuck Taylor model with a built-in Wah Pedal. We can’t even.
Design agency Critical Mass originally conceived the idea, which was adapted by CuteCircuit into a wireless version. Here’s how it works: there’s a sensor in the sole of the shoe, which registers your flex movement and sends it to a Wah Box via Bluetooth. If you don’t have an amp, you can use a Mac or an iPhone.
Watch this space for more details on when and where you can get your hands on a pair of these babies. 13 guitarists have had a test of them so far, but the promo video still features a version that you’ve gotta plug in. Dinosaur Jr.’s J Mascis has, however, given it a test run IRL, so to get a better picture; you should probably hit play on that video below. We’re not trying to distort the truth, but you should really get your foot-in-the-door with this new technology.
Check out the promo video for a wirey (not wireless) version of the shoe below.
