City and Colour Announce 2016 National Tour
It’s official: Dallas Green can’t get enough of us. Here this week for a promotional jaunt comprising a couple of one-off fan events in Sydney and Melbourne, Green has just announced that he’ll be out here for a full national tour with City and Colour after he wraps up his Bluesfest 2016 performance. Happy Monday indeed.
It’s been a busy few years for City and Colour, with Green bouncing between collaboration albums with P!nk and his own studio efforts, to headlining festivals the world over, including some highly anticipated sets with his former post-hardcore bandmates in Alexisonfire. Seemingly unable to stay away from our fair land, Green and co. will be out here next year giving us a taste of tracks from their fifth full-length, If I Should Go Before You, no doubt including the album’s opener “Woman” – a nine-minute epic that’s easily one of the best songs he’s ever put his name to. The album debuted at #5 on the ARIA Album Chart a couple of weeks ago and saw Green taking a seat in the producer’s chair for the first time to guide his trusted touring (and now studio) band through the motions.
Given City and Colour’s 2013 national tour saw them performing to over 30,000 fans across Australia, the question of these shows selling out is more of a “when” then an “if”. Though if you’ve got a keen eye, you’ll no doubt have noticed that there’s some healthy gaps between those show dates, which can only mean good things for eager punters. The band’s Aussie fanbase has always been a dedicated one, and with Green’s emotive lyrical narratives and on-stage charm, it’s a bit of a no-brainer as to why.
Tickets go on sale Monday October 26th @ 10am.
