Chiodos: “We’re Talking About Practice” Track Premiere

By Emily Swanson March 26, 2014

Chiodos

In the lead up to their first release in four years – and the first to feature frontman Craig Owens since 2007’s Bone Palace Ballet – Michigan sextet Chiodos have been slowly drip feeding us tracks and videos from their upcoming full-length, Devil. When discussing the album’s title, Owens enthuses that Devil hit him, and it hit him hard. “I asked myself if I was brave enough to stand behind such a strong, emotionally evoking word and I knew right then that was it,” he explains. “This title is not to be confused with the evil, red-horned man surrounded by fire, this is about the temptations of everyday life: the things that become regrets, the moments where you are forced to make a choice that will determine how it is that you look at yourself for the rest of your life. This album is my definition of Devil.”

“We’re Talking About Practice” is the latest post-hardcore banger to get the video treatment from the band (and pay homage to the past with its montage of black and white footage) and BLUNT’s a tad stoked to be sharing it with the world. Spoiler: It’s a bit excellent.

Devil is out April 4 in Australia through Faction/Sony Music.
