Brigades Announce Debut LP Through Pure Noise Records
South Carolina pop-punk hopefuls Brigades will release their debut LP Indefinite through Pure Noise Records and Sony Music Australia on July 28. Indefinite will be the follow-up to the band’s Crocodile Tears EP, which was re-released by Pure Noise in 2014 after the band joined the label. With some sonic similarities to many of the label’s and indeed the greater pop-punk world’s biggest players (The Story So Far, State Champs), Brigades are sure to strike a chord within their scene.
“A lot went into recording this record,” says vocalist Darren Young. “Not to cling to cliches but we really did put our blood, sweat, and tears into this one. It’s our first full-length together and we’re really pleased with how it turned out. We were kind of falling apart at the seams the first week of recording, but it really pulled us back together.”
Catchy lead single “Enemy” sees Brigades embracing the punk half of their double-barrelled genre:
“‘Enemy’ is a song about my personal thoughts on organized religion and how toxic it can be to everyone on this earth,” Young adds. “It’s a little more political and controversial compared to most of the other songs, but definitely an important one.”
Indefinite is out July 28 through Pure Noise/Sony Music.
