BLUNT Goes Digital

BLUNT-goesdigital1

Guys, you might want to sit down for this one…

We’re going digital! Today marks the relaunch of bluntmag.com.au as we transition to a digital format to provide you guys with the same content you know and love (plus stacks of new and exclusive stuff) – free and accessible 24/7.

You’ve have shown us a lot of love over the past few years – so much so that the unique browsers on our site have increased by over 500 percent in the past 12 months alone, and 68% of you are accessing our content on your smart phones and tablets. We’re going to be focusing our full attention and considerable resources on delivering a non-stop feed of news, interviews, reviews, videos, streaming content and giveaways (in other words, the good shit!) so we can continue to hold our own as one of the premier voices in the Australian alternative scene.

“In going digital, BLUNT has never had more direct and instant access to its ever-growing audience. We’ve spent the past four years expanding our online presence through social media, engaging with our fans and finding out what makes them tick. We’re super active on the platforms they live and breathe – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube – and we’re front row at every show, screaming our lungs out with the best of them, ” explains BLUNT editor Emily Swanson.

Our classic cover story will find a new digital home as we give key interviews a digital makeover in our new Monthly Feature section. This month we go behind-the-scenes with Violent Soho as they prepare to release their highly anticipated new album, with exclusive images from the studio courtesy of the band’s Luke Henery.

In honour of our newly acquired access to Def Wolf, a boutique recording studio in the heart of Sydney, we’ll be kicking BLUNT TV into high gear by broadcasting professionally recorded live performances from the world’s hottest heavy bands. First up, Sydney punk rockers Born Lion deliver an absolutely blistering rendition of one of their latest tracks, “Rest In Pieces”.

We understand how important it is for you guys to plaster your walls with snaps of your heroes – the BLUNT office is absolutely covered with all of ours. With that, we’re proud to announce that BLUNT Posters won’t be going anywhere. We’ve consolidated both BLUNT and Twisted Posters to now fall under the one BLUNT banner so that you guys can get the best of both worlds (without having to make a Sophie’s Choice at the checkout).

Take a peek around the site and see what you like – we’re beyond stoked to finally share the news with you!
